Join our logistics team in Detroit, Michigan, as a skilled Forklift Operator! We are seeking a certified and experienced individual to safely manage the movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts for loading, unloading, and transporting goods, as well as assisting with inventory management and maintaining a safe working environment. This role is fundamental to the efficient operations of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and containers in a timely manner.
- Transport products from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by ensuring proper product placement and movement.
- Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to optimize logistics flow.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Valid forklift operator certification is required.
- Minimum of (Specify number, e.g., 1-2) years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Strong attention to detail and good spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent punctuality and work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
