We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator in Columbus, Ohio, to enhance our warehouse logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your expertise ensures the smooth flow of goods within our facility, contributing directly to our logistics efficiency and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a commitment to adhering to all Safety protocols. We require certified forklift operators who understand the importance of proper material handling and warehouse Safety. This is a crucial role in our distribution network.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Move inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and stage materials appropriately.
- Perform daily inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and verify stock levels.
- Follow all logistics and warehouse operational guidelines.
- Ensure all Lifting and material handling is done in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of logistics principles is a plus.
