Join our logistics team in Portland, Oregon, as a Material Handler! We are seeking hardworking and safety-conscious individuals to manage the flow of materials within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency at every step. You will operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move goods throughout the facility. A solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and a commitment to safety are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, detail-oriented, and a reliable team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Store and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack, and prepare materials for outgoing shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Report any damaged goods or safety concerns immediately.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and scanning devices.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and the use of required PPE.
- Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse environment is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of warehouse logistics and inventory management principles.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
