We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our Detroit, Michigan warehouse. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate intake of all incoming shipments. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and properly documenting all received items. This role is a key component of our logistics process, impacting inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, possesses excellent record-keeping skills, and is committed to maintaining a safe and orderly receiving area. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth functioning of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Unloading incoming freight from delivery trucks.
- Verifying received goods against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Inspecting all incoming products for damage and reporting any issues.
- Accurately entering receiving data into the warehouse management system.
- Stocking received items in their appropriate locations.
- Maintaining a clean and organized receiving dock.
- Adhering to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assisting with inventory cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborating with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse/logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Understanding of warehouse Safety protocols.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable and punctual.
