We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our Portland, Oregon, facility. This pivotal role focuses on optimizing our inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy within our logistics operations. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize stockouts and overstock situations, analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements. You will conduct in-depth cycle counts, perform root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity. Maintaining robust inventory control procedures and a highly organized warehouse are key objectives. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics are essential. Commitment to upholding the highest safety standards, including the diligent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is critical.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies.
- Conduct thorough cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and reduce discrepancies.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and maintain the accuracy of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory turnover and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and deliver reports on inventory status and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. Experience with WMS and ERP systems is required. Excellent understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory best practices. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to work independently and lead projects. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be committed to safety and the correct use of PPE.
