We are seeking highly skilled Diesel Mechanics with expertise in electrical diagnostics on heavy-duty diesel engines, as well as performing comprehensive repairs on all major systems of heavy-duty trucks.
This role will likely require a majority of work being done as mobile service repairs performed in a service truck.
This role requires extensive hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, electrical systems, suspensions, and other critical truck components.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of heavy-duty truck mechanics, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently to complete complex repairs.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Scan, evaluate, inspect, and repair heavy-duty diesel engines according to manufacturer specifications.
* Diagnose and repair engine components, including fuel injection systems, turbochargers, cooling systems, and exhaust systems.
* Perform maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on transmissions, clutches, and drivetrains.
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air brake systems, including compressors, valves, and ABS components.
* Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including wiring, starters, alternators, batteries, and lighting systems.
* Perform suspension diagnostics and repairs, including leaf springs, shocks, bushings, and steering components.
* Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems as necessary.
* Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards.
* Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
* Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards to ensure a safe work environment.
*Qualifications & Skills:*
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in diesel mechanics preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine rebuilding and heavy-duty truck repair.
* In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, transmissions, air brakes, electrical systems, and suspensions.
* Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, scanners, and specialized repair equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow manufacturer specifications.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently complete repairs.
*Work Environment & Physical Requirements:*
* Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts (up to 75 lbs).
* Work in various conditions, including outdoor environments, shop settings, and extreme temperatures.
* Extended periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
