We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our team at Buzz ABA. The ideal candidate will provide specialized therapy services to children with autism. This role involves developing and implementing individualized care plans to improve functional independence and quality of life for pediatric patients with diverse needs. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care, focusing on enhancing daily living skills and developmental milestones.
*Responsibilities*
* Assess children’s motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities to develop tailored treatment plans.
* Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, feeding, and grooming to promote independence.
* Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, coordination, and sensory integration.
* Coordinate discharge planning and transition care strategies to ensure continuity of therapy services across settings.
* Work with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or disabilities to optimize their developmental potential.
* Document patient progress accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
* Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support ongoing development at home.
* Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate comprehensive care approaches for pediatric patients.
*Skills*
* Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric development.
* Experience assisting with ADLs and discharge planning for pediatric populations.
* Familiarity working with children with autism, disabilities, or in early intervention programs.
* Background in acute care settings such as ICU or inpatient units is advantageous.
* Experience in occupational health, geriatrics, or post-acute care is a plus but not required.
* Ability to develop individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments.
* Skilled in case management and patient care coordination across multiple healthcare environments.
* Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of speech therapy principles is beneficial for integrated patient care approaches. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives through compassionate and expert occupational therapy services across diverse healthcare settings.
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
