Our growing logistics center in Boise, Idaho, is looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counts, stock adjustments, and discrepancy investigations. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and warehouse staff to ensure that our inventory data is precise and reliable. A keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations are vital. This position requires a commitment to safety, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and the ability to perform some lifting. Your efforts will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Process stock adjustments and transfers in the inventory management system (IMS).
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock accuracy.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory within the warehouse.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the receiving and shipping departments to ensure accurate data entry.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.
- Maintain a safe and organized inventory storage environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Proper use of PPE as required for warehouse and inventory tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in business or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to perform lifting tasks up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
