Are you a fast-paced individual looking for a rewarding career in warehousing? Our Sacramento, California facility is seeking a dedicated Order Picker to join our team. As an Order Picker, you will play a vital role in fulfilling customer orders accurately and efficiently. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations. You will be responsible for locating and retrieving items from shelves and storage areas, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are picked for shipment. Our logistics department relies on skilled pickers to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. We prioritize a safe working environment, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This role involves significant walking and lifting, making physical fitness a key requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order sheets or scanning equipment.
- Verify product codes and quantities before proceeding to the next item.
- Pack picked items securely for shipment, ensuring no damage occurs.
- Transport picked orders to the designated packing or shipping areas.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and efficiency in order fulfillment.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or stock issues to supervisors.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE during all shifts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory management.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and using PPE.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
