We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our Durham, North Carolina logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. Operating a forklift requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will ensure that all loads are secured properly and that warehouse pathways remain clear and safe for all personnel. A thorough understanding of warehouse safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE, is essential. The ideal candidate is experienced, reliable, and possesses a valid forklift certification. This is a critical role in our supply chain, requiring diligence and a proactive approach to maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards. Experience with various types of forklifts and warehouse management systems is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Safely move, stack, and organize inventory in designated areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating system information.
- Ensure that all loads are properly secured and balanced.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and safety of the logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting and prolonged sitting/standing.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Strong commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with good communication skills.
