Join our growing logistics team as a Forklift Operator in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move materials, manage inventory, and support shipping and receiving operations. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any defects.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper handling.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Strictly adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Support the overall logistics operations and team goals.
- Handle all tasks involving Lifting and material movement with utmost care.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse Safety best practices and OSHA regulations.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems is a plus.
