Our Nashville, Tennessee logistics center is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and processing all goods. Your duties will include verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, identifying and documenting any damages or discrepancies, and efficiently stocking received items into our inventory system. This position requires excellent organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly warehouse environment. Understanding of logistics procedures and the importance of workplace Safety, including the use of PPE, is essential. The role involves some physical activity, including moderate Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify that all delivered items match purchase orders in terms of quantity and item description.
- Inspect incoming goods for any damage or defects and report findings immediately.
- Accurately document all receiving activities in the inventory management system.
- Organize and stock received items in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory control tasks and cycle counts as needed.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal departments.
- Support the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and RF scanners.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting, up to 35 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of basic warehouse Safety principles and proper handling of materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Commitment to following all Safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
