Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is seeking dedicated Picker/Packers to join our vital logistics team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer orders. Your responsibilities will encompass picking items from inventory using order sheets or scanning technology, carefully packing them for safe transit, and preparing them for shipment. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficiency, and a strong commitment to workplace Safety. You will be expected to handle items of varying sizes and weights, involving consistent Lifting. We provide all necessary training and emphasize the importance of adhering to all Safety protocols and wearing the mandated PPE. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from inventory based on customer orders.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely and appropriately for shipping, using correct materials.
- Label packages and prepare them for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and contribute to overall warehouse tidiness.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, if required.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Report any damaged goods or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
- Support the overall logistics operations of the distribution center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in a picking or packing role within a warehouse or logistics setting is beneficial.
- Ability to perform regular Lifting of products weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Understanding and adherence to Safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of the shift.
