We are hiring a proactive Shipping Clerk to join our bustling logistics hub in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be essential in ensuring that outgoing orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and prepared for timely delivery to our valued customers. Your primary duties will involve verifying orders, selecting appropriate packaging materials, carefully packing items to prevent damage during transit, and generating shipping labels and documentation. You will also be responsible for coordinating with carriers, scheduling pickups, and maintaining accurate shipping records. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a strong understanding of shipping procedures and carrier requirements. A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and collaborate with team members to achieve shipping goals. Experience with shipping software and knowledge of logistics operations are highly desirable. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, efficient, and dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and accurate order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Select appropriate packaging materials and pack items securely.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers and schedule pickups.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and track shipments.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
- Ensure timely dispatch of all outgoing orders.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with various shipping carriers and methods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
