Our growing logistics operation in Detroit, Michigan is looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory, and ensuring items are stored correctly. Your proficiency with various types of forklifts will be essential to maintaining productivity and supporting our overall warehouse operations. We are committed to a safe working environment, and all team members are required to follow strict safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE. The ability to handle materials with care and precision is a must. This role involves significant physical activity, including periods of standing, walking, and substantial lifting. Experience with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment is also beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Follow all safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, which may include lifting and palletizing.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting and bending.
- Understanding of logistics and inventory control.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
