We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to become a vital part of our warehouse operations in Madison, Wisconsin. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage locations, and assisting with order fulfillment. Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, is essential. You will be expected to perform pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and adhering to all warehouse safety protocols, are critical aspects of this role. Your role is central to the smooth flow of our logistics processes, ensuring materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there. We are committed to a safe working environment for all employees, and strict adherence to safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position involves regular lifting and requires a strong understanding of safe material handling practices. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any issues.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock rotation and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Operate other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Coordinate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Responsible for lifting and moving items weighing up to 70 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner.
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform frequent lifting and maneuvering.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
