We are seeking a part-time *Hospice Medical Director* to join our team and lead the medical components our new hospice. This is a unique opportunity for either an experienced MD or DO with hospice care experience or with the medical care of terminally ill patients who wants to step up into a medical director role on a part-time basis an experienced hospice medical director who wants to be a part of an energetic and entrepreneurial team that is passionate about building a model hospice for the Colorado community. Our founders and operational leaders are experienced with over 21 years of home health and hospice. We have already developed a strong infrastructure, so our Medical Director will be operationally supported from day one, yet will have the opportunity to assist our clinical leadership team in driving best practices.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Overall responsibility for the medical component of our hospice program, including patient care oversight and support.
* Provie medical guidance for symptom management, pain control, and other medical inverventions.
* Leads and collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team, including nurses, social workers, and chaplains, and meets every other week in-person with the Team to discuss patient care and cases.
* Engage with patients and families to provide education and address concerns.
* Provide Face-To-Face (F2F) assessments to patients when needed per Medicare requirements and hospice eligibility.
* Participate in our Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI).
* Provide on-call support as needed and per communication and escalation protocols.
* Act as a key ambassador for our hospice, building relationships with local healthcare providers and community organizations.
*Qualifications:*
* Graduate of an accredited college/university with a *doctorate degree in medicine or doctor of osteopathy* and is fully licensed to practice medicine in Colorado, without stipulations.
* *Experience and expertise in the medical care of terminally ill patients required.*
* 2 years of experience in hospice preferred.
* Strong medical and clinical leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Deep knowledge of Medicare, hospice regulations, standards of care, and best practices.
* Ability to travel to the main office (in Aurora) at least once every 2 weeks to lead the Interdisciplinary Team conferences in person.
