The Sales Floor Associate's primary responsibility is providing exceptional customer service at all times while also participating in the general upkeep of the store. Once assigned to a department the Associate will be responsible for the upkeep of that specific area of the store while still contributing to the overall store upkeep as needed. The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. The Sales Associate will be trained to Cashier. This will allow for the sales associate to be able to fill in as a Cashier as determined by the Store Manager. The "Full Time Sales Floor Associate/Cashier" employee will be expected to be flexible in their schedule. Ensure all pages and calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively. Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management. Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products. Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time. Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment. Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store. Assist with maintaining back stock levels. Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area. Assist with providing a clean and orderly sales floor, including end caps and ad merchandise. Assist with merchandise resets through the store. Provide assistance to Department Specialists, i.e. price changes, special orders. Ensure signage is current throughout the store. Communicate any Store Support Center issue to the Store Manager for follow up. Communicate any merchandising, cost control or sales idea to the Store Manager. Participate in store meetings. Be professional in appearance and actions. Perform all other duties as assigned. Smile! Laugh! & Have fun! Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively. Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location. Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise. Be aware & conscious of any shoplifting activity. Notify a Supervisor immediately. Must be willing to do Pick up & Deliveries as determined by management. Must be willing to learn how to cut keys, program chip keys, cut glass, re-screening, lock rekeying, filling bulk propane and any other service we provide. You will be trained to drive a Forklift and expected to run the Forklift as determined by management. Follow all cash register transaction procedures. Responsible for accurately counting change back to customers. Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently. Adhere to any Store program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers. Participate in all store and Cashier meetings. Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times. Face and dust front end. Assist with keeping impulse counters stocked and faced, rotate fresh merchandise in as seasons change. Ensure fresh ads are stocked in shopping carts at all times. Ensure forms and supplies are stocked at all times. Assist with decorating the front end. High School or GED equivalent. Clean & Clear Driving Record Retail experience preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and climbing.
