Graduate Nurse - *December Graduates* at Providence Health and Services summary: The Graduate Nurse provides supervised, therapeutic nursing care to patients, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The role requires eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN within 75 days, after which the nurse transitions to a Resident RN status upon passing. This entry-level nursing position supports patient advocacy and is integral to a patient-focused healthcare environment at Covenant Medical Center in Texas. Under direct supervision, independently uses the nursing process to safely, therapeutically and efficiently care for a group of patients. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, identify outcomes and evaluate patient's plan of care. The GN serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to enhance the patient experience. New graduates are permitted to perform any function that falls within the scope of nursing practice for which they have received educational preparation and have demonstrated minimal competency. The Graduate Nurse must take the NCLEX-RN within 75 days from receiving the Authorization to Test (ATT). Upon testing, the temporary Graduate Nurse Permit will expire immediately, and the individual will no longer be eligible to work as a GN.
