Position Overview
The Office of the Member of Parliament for Bow River is seeking a reliable and organized Constituency Assistant to support constituency operations and provide front-line service to residents of the riding.
This role supports the Member of Parliament and office team through constituent service, administrative coordination, communications support, and community outreach. The Constituency Assistant plays an important role in ensuring constituents receive timely, professional, and confidential assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line service and support to constituents in person, by phone, and in writing
- Assist with constituency casework and liaise with federal departments as required
- Provide administrative and organizational support to ensure efficient office operations
- Support scheduling, correspondence, and communications activities
- Assist with outreach, advertising, and coordination of community and constituency events
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound judgment and professionalism when working with the public
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing demands
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of federal programs, parliamentary processes, or political environments is an asset
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Hold valid class 5 Drivers License
Experience
- Experience providing administrative or reception support in an office setting
- Experience working with the public or in a service-oriented role is an asset
