Role:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a 6-month contract to cover maternity leave. This role is responsible for managing accounts payable processes, journal entries, month-end reconciliations, AR cheque deposits, and other accounting tasks to support the finance team.
Role Responsibilities:
- Maintain open receipts by completing inventory vouchering and processing freight invoices.
- Process inventory vouchers and resolve match exceptions in coordination with Purchasing and warehouse operations.
- Monitor vendor discount policies and ensure timely payments to capture discounts.
- Communicate with vendors to verify and update payment methods and banking details.
- Review and manage pay cycles.
- Enter and upload monthly journal entries for bank activities and other accounting items.
- Reconcile accounts payable, inventory, prepayments, and expenses.
- Prepare accounts receivable cheque deposits: open mail, identify customer details, and itemize payments.
- Perform various accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
- College Diploma or Certificate in Accounting.
- 2 years of Accounting/Bookkeeping experience.
- Strong computer skills. PeopleSoft experience a definite asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time-management skills.
