Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic warehouse operations in San Antonio, Texas. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through diligent monitoring, analysis, and process management. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing inventory levels, and implementing best practices in inventory management. You will work closely with various departments to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize losses, and improve overall warehouse efficiency. A strong understanding of logistics, supply chain principles, and inventory management systems is essential. We emphasize a culture of safety, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. This position requires exceptional analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to identify and resolve complex inventory issues. While not primarily a physical role, occasional lifting may be required. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to optimize stock.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) inventory data.
  • Identify root causes of inventory inaccuracies and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and shipping teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, shrinkage, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO) and identify obsolete or slow-moving stock.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
  • Perform occasional lifting and moving of inventory items as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency with WMS, ERP systems, and inventory management software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to safety and experience using PPE.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
