We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. The Material Handler plays a crucial role in maintaining the flow of inventory and ensuring that products are handled with care. You will be operating various types of material handling equipment, which requires skill, precision, and a strong commitment to safety. We emphasize a safe working environment, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The ideal candidate will be reliable, physically fit, and possess a good understanding of warehouse operations. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting of materials, typically up to 60 pounds, and requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating machinery. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
- Transport materials to shipping and receiving docks.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Identify and report damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Perform frequent lifting and moving of materials, typically up to 60 pounds.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent heavy lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and logistics.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and experience using PPE.
- Good communication skills.
