Job Summary:
Are you a skilled professional with a knack for keeping warehouse operations running like clockwork? We are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Technician to join our bustling logistics hub in Chicago, Illinois. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our diverse range of warehouse equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, and automated systems. Your expertise will ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical skills, a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, and a deep understanding of warehouse safety protocols. You must be comfortable working with complex machinery and have a proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues. A strong commitment to safety is non-negotiable; this includes strict adherence to all safety regulations and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. This role requires the ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and contribute positively to our team-oriented environment. You will be involved in tasks that may require lifting and maneuvering parts, so good physical condition is essential. Your work directly impacts the smooth functioning of our entire logistics network.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all warehouse machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and the work environment.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools.
  • Install and set up new equipment as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Utilize PPE correctly and consistently.
  • Document all maintenance activities and repairs accurately.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Support overall logistics efficiency through effective equipment management.
  • Assist with tasks involving lifting and handling of equipment components.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of workplace safety practices and the use of PPE.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Technical certifications or associate's degree in a related field are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
