The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly organized and data-driven Trade Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role is designed to serve as the operational backbone of our marketing department. The successful candidate will focus on trade execution, data accuracy, and logistics, ensuring that our existing marketing initiatives are maintained and executed to a high standard. You will own the sales support function, ensuring our team has accurate tools, our trade submissions are on time, and our events are logistically sound.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of provincial Liquor Board marketing programs (BCLDB submissions, TASTE Magazine entries, neck-tags), ensuring precision and deadline adherence.
  • Work with the Sales & Marketing Manager on go-to-market launches: from listing to shelf.
  • Create and implement strategic planograms for in-store displays to maximize brand visibility.
  • Partner with hospitality clients to design custom activation materials (cocktail menus, coasters, table talkers) to drive on-premise sales.

Sales Support & Operations:
  • Produce and maintain sell sheets, price lists, and product profiles; update templates in Canva or Affinity Suite (or design new ones).
  • Ensure product data accuracy across portals (BCLDB, Liquify, Liquor Connect, company website).
  • Manipulate and prepare large datasets in Excel/Google Sheets (e.g., combining fields for portal uploads).
  • Build and refine professional presentations for internal strategy and external partner pitches.

Event Logistics & Execution:
  • Manage event logistics end-to-end: timelines, budgets, procurement, packing, transportation, setup/tear-down of branded booths.
  • Serve as the primary contact for venues, equipment rentals, service providers; negotiate contracts and ensure operational excellence.
  • Create pre-event scenario budgets and perform post-event KPI/ROI analysis to identify and act on improvements.
  • Represent the company at trade tastings and festivals; engage attendees and support brand visibility.

Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, Event Management or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in marketing operations, trade marketing or sales support; beverage alcohol or CPG experience strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in design software (Affinity Suite, Adobe, Canva) with a strong grasp of layout, typography and branding consistency.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (including formulas like VLOOKUP and dataset manipulation).
  • Excellent project management, organization and ability to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy in proofreading, pricing, spelling and data integrity.
  • Strong written/verbal English communication skills; ability to craft professional copy for sales materials and emails.
  • Event budgeting and financial acumen for marketing activities.
  • Valid BC driver's license and reliable vehicle for event logistics.
  • Valid Serving It Right certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs (20.4 kg).

Nice to Have:
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Background in hospitality or retail (e.g., bartending, serving, retail sales).
  • WSET certification (any level).
  • Familiarity with Asana or similar project-management tools.
