HVAC Technician

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and manufacturer instructions.
• Operate small and large equipment required to complete tasks.
• Test systems for proper functioning using specialized tools and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with local HVAC codes and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• 3-5 years (TG3) of experience in a similar role
• Possess a valid Certification of Qualification
• Possess any of the following licenses: G2 or G1 Gas License, 308A Sheet Metal License or 313D or 313A Refrigeration Mechanic License
• Ability to work on call on a rotational basis
• Ability to read, assess and execute blueprints and drawings
• Ability to travel locally to job sites
• Ability to perform physical tasks on construction sites, including working on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
• Possesses a valid and up to date driver's license and a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to troubleshoot, make on-site decisions and adapt to a changing work environment
• Skilled in identifying issues and delivering prompt, effective solutions while maintaining exceptional customer service
