We are seeking a reliable and efficient Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Orlando, Florida. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the flow of goods within our distribution center. Your responsibilities will include receiving and inspecting incoming shipments, moving materials throughout the facility, operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensuring accurate inventory management. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse.
- Stack and store inventory in designated areas, ensuring organization and accessibility.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
- Prepare materials for shipment, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any equipment issues or safety hazards immediately.
- Practice safe lifting and material handling techniques at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Proficiency with material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds repetitively.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial.
- Commitment to safety, including safe lifting practices.
