Are you a certified Forklift Operator seeking a rewarding position in Durham, North Carolina? Our logistics facility is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious individual to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. This role is essential for the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring that inventory is handled, stored, and moved correctly. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, managing palletized loads, and ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This position demands a keen eye for detail, excellent spatial awareness, and a deep understanding of warehouse safety standards. Regular lifting and maneuvering of materials are part of the job, and a commitment to safety is paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trailers, racks, and other storage areas.
- Transport inventory to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on forklifts.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and picking processes.
- Maintain accurate logs of forklift usage and movements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper PPE usage.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure operational efficiency.
- Participate in inventory management tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and good judgment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and using appropriate PPE.
