We are seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in New York City, New York. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management systems. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to minimize stockouts and overstock situations. Your role will involve working closely with receiving, shipping, and production departments to ensure seamless inventory flow. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a highly organized and efficient warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigating and reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Monitoring inventory levels and identifying potential stock issues.
- Implementing and refining inventory control procedures.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Collaborating with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of goods.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assisting with the training of new team members on inventory processes.
- Reporting on inventory accuracy and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in WMS and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with lifting and moving goods, adhering to safe lifting practices.
- Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics operations.
This position involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE, is paramount.
