We are seeking a diligent and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are accurately documented, inspected, and stored properly. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and ensuring a smooth flow of materials into the warehouse. This position requires a meticulous approach and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying counts against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory management system.
- Label and tag incoming inventory as required.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain organized and clean receiving and dock areas.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate lifting.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE, such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Familiarity with logistics processes and warehouse operations is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
Working Conditions:
This role operates within a busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting items up to 25-40 lbs. Emphasis is placed on workplace safety, and all employees are required to follow safety protocols and utilize PPE to ensure a secure working environment.
