We are seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. The Shipping Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures. Responsibilities include preparing shipping labels, verifying order details against packed items, coordinating with carriers, maintaining shipping records, and communicating with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient with computer systems, and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and process all outgoing shipments.
- Generate and apply shipping labels and manifests.
- Verify order contents and quantities before dispatch.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized shipping records and files.
- Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including occasional Lifting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
