You will be responsible for loading and unloading shipments, transporting goods using various material handling equipment, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. The ideal candidate is physically capable, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong commitment to safety. This position requires consistent manual labor, including significant lifting and the operation of pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Place materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes, verifying quantities and identifying discrepancies.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and safety.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE, such as safety vests, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervision promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Experience operating pallet jacks and potentially other basic warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic math and reading skills.
