Our rapidly growing company is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You will conduct regular audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement procedures to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize losses. This position requires a meticulous individual with a strong understanding of inventory management systems and logistics principles. You will work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling and storage of goods, contributing directly to the efficiency of our supply chain operations. Safety is paramount, and you will play a role in reinforcing safety protocols and ensuring the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and efficiently.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures and policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and recommend adjustments.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to prevent damage and obsolescence.
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, and picking processes.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns related to inventory storage and handling.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and the proper use of PPE during all inventory-related activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Effective communication skills.
