Operate a Reach Truck and contribute to the efficient flow of goods in our Detroit, Michigan warehouse. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and arranging inventory. This role requires a skilled and safety-conscious individual who can operate specialized equipment with precision and care. You will work within a dynamic logistics environment, ensuring materials are handled correctly to maintain inventory integrity and support operational needs. A keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow instructions are essential. This position involves frequent forklift operation and requires adherence to all safety standards, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of operating material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Responsibilities:
- Operate a reach truck safely and efficiently to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Accurately put away and retrieve inventory from high-level racking systems.
- Perform pre-operation checks on the reach truck to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including strict adherence to lift truck operating guidelines.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating a reach truck, with valid certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical dexterity and stamina.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours if required.
- Solid work ethic and reliability.
