We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our growing warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. This position is fundamental to our daily operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately assembled and prepared for shipment. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for locating products in the warehouse, verifying order details, carefully packaging items, and preparing them for transit. Your efficiency and accuracy are key to maintaining customer satisfaction and supporting our overall logistics pipeline. This role requires a meticulous approach and a commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately select items from warehouse shelves according to order instructions.
- Inspect picked items for damage or defects.
- Pack items securely and appropriately using various packaging materials.
- Verify order contents against shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for carrier pickup.
- Maintain an organized and clean packing station and work area.
- Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks as needed to move goods.
- Follow all company safety rules and procedures, including the consistent use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory tasks and other warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse work is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Basic reading and comprehension skills.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Awareness of safety protocols and a commitment to wearing appropriate PPE.
