Our busy distribution center in San Francisco, California is seeking a diligent and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing, processing, and tracking outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are shipped correctly and on time. This role is crucial to maintaining the efficiency of our operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will work closely with the warehouse floor, carriers, and management to coordinate the flow of goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify shipping orders against physical inventory for accuracy.
- Prepare and affix shipping labels, tags, and other required documentation.
- Operate shipping software and computer systems to generate bills of lading and tracking information.
- Communicate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and manage deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies before dispatch.
- Maintain organized shipping areas and keep accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and general warehouse duties as needed.
- Report any issues or delays to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with lifting techniques and safety protocols is essential for this role.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
