We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including staff management, inventory control, and the efficient flow of goods. You will ensure that daily tasks are completed on time and according to established procedures, focusing on productivity, quality, and safety. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Your responsibilities will include managing receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes. Crucially, you will champion safety initiatives, ensuring that all team members understand and follow safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices. Regular audits of safety procedures and equipment will be part of your duties. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse supervision, experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital for coordinating with other departments and external partners. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accuracy through regular audits.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Implement and enforce company policies and safety procedures, including PPE usage.
- Develop and train warehouse personnel, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and shipping.
- Manage equipment maintenance and repair schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Address and resolve operational issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Proficiency in WMS software and other relevant technologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive performance.
- Commitment to safety, including understanding of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing demands.
- Excellent organizational skills.
