We are hiring a dedicated Receiving Clerk for our facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this critical role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring accurate documentation, inspection, and processing of all inventory. Your responsibilities include verifying shipment contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and properly logging received items into our inventory system. A meticulous approach, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to Safety are essential. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and supporting our overall logistics operations. We provide all necessary PPE and emphasize a culture of Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and document any issues.
- Accurately enter received inventory data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Label and prepare received items for storage or distribution.
- Organize the receiving area to ensure efficient workflow and maintain a clean environment.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding shipment status and discrepancies.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and utilize required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all established logistics and receiving procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory control.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills; WMS experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including some Lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety practices and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
