Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our inventory management systems. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics. Proficiency with inventory management software and ERP systems is essential. A commitment to safety and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is paramount. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments. Contribute to optimizing our supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between system data and physical stock.
  • Analyze inventory trends, identify root causes of errors, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
  • Develop and implement procedures for inventory management, including receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping processes.
  • Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and ensure proper storage conditions.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend disposition strategies.
  • Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management regarding stock levels and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operations, procurement, and sales teams to resolve inventory issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE during inventory activities.
  • Assist in the training of new staff on inventory control procedures.
  • Propose improvements to inventory control processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related logistics role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., WMS, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with physical inventory counts and cycle counting methodologies.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including occasional lifting up to 30 pounds and working in a warehouse environment.
