Global Director Sales Development – Akamai Technologies Join our growing and exciting Sales Development organisation. We are seeking a senior global sales development second‑line leader to shape strategy, align cross‑functional stakeholders, and develop leadership talent to accelerate the pipeline for Akamai's global security business.
Impact the Future Growth of Our Business You will lead and influence a global team of SDRs and be responsible for achieving its pipeline objectives. Success requires executive presence, strategic clarity, and the ability to build alignment across senior leaders in Sales, Marketing, and GTM Operations.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a Specialist SDR strategy that supports Akamai's goals and revenue targets for all product lines.
Define scalable processes, tools, and best practices to optimize pipeline generation across global markets.
Tailor SDR strategies to regional markets, ensuring alignment with global product positioning and go‑to‑market plans.
Partner with sales leaders to align SDR campaigns with pipeline and revenue goals for each product line.
Set and monitor performance metrics for pipeline generation, lead conversion, and sales‑qualified opportunities.
Build and lead a high‑performing global SDR team, fostering accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Qualifications
Extensive experience as a senior leader in Sales Development within enterprise software or SaaS environments.
Operated as a second‑line manager in a matrix environment.
Experience closing sales roles within enterprise software or SaaS.
Track record of achieving quota and high performance with your teams.
Proven experience developing strategies that align sales and marketing goals to accelerate pipeline growth.
Skillset with SDR productivity tools such as Salesforce, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, TechTarget, 6Sense, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
