We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk to join our Logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate preparation of all outgoing shipments. Your attention to detail will ensure that orders are processed correctly, labeled appropriately, and dispatched on time, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will work closely with warehouse staff and carriers to coordinate logistics and resolve any shipping-related issues. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders and shipping documents.
- Prepare shipping labels, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup schedules and delivery arrangements.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging, labeling, and condition.
- Track shipments and provide updates on delivery status to relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, sales teams, and customers regarding shipping inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and company policies related to shipping operations.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including some Lifting and material handling as needed.
- Properly use all required PPE while performing duties.
- Support the overall efficiency of our Logistics network.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related Logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of shipping regulations and carrier procedures.
- Familiarity with Safety protocols in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform occasional Lifting of up to 30 pounds.
