We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our growing team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations and overall logistics efficiency. You will be responsible for managing the movement of goods within the warehouse, including loading and unloading, transporting materials, and organizing storage areas. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic, understands the importance of safety, and can perform physically demanding tasks. We strictly enforce safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires the ability to handle significant Lifting and operate various material handling equipment. Join us and be an integral part of our logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Assist with order picking and staging for shipments.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any defects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Properly wear and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support daily logistics operations and contribute to team goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent and heavy Lifting (up to 55 lbs).
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Good stamina and physical fitness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
