We are hiring a dedicated Receiving Clerk for our busy distribution center in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring all goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed. Your attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting our logistics operations. You will work closely with our warehouse team to ensure efficient material flow and a streamlined receiving process. This position requires a commitment to safety and accuracy, as well as the ability to handle various types of merchandise. We provide comprehensive training on our receiving procedures and systems. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Unload merchandise and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage received goods for put-away.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques.
- Wear required PPE during all receiving operations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong organizational and data entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
