Our Las Vegas, Nevada facility is seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse. This includes operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading shipments, and ensuring materials are stored safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a demanding environment. This position is key to maintaining the flow and organization of our inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Loading and unloading trucks and containers.
- Moving materials to and from storage areas.
- Organizing and stacking materials according to established procedures.
- Performing regular inspections of equipment and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Assisting with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborating with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensuring proper handling of all materials to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., forklift operator) are a strong asset.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, up to 60 pounds.
- Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workplace.
- Willingness to wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines.
This role involves significant physical exertion, including operating heavy machinery and frequent lifting. Safety is paramount; therefore, all employees must adhere strictly to safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Your expertise is vital to our logistics operations.
