Join our bustling logistics hub in Atlanta, Georgia, as a Receiving Clerk! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to manage the incoming flow of goods into our distribution center. The Receiving Clerk is the first point of contact for inbound shipments and plays a critical role in ensuring that all deliveries are accurately accounted for, inspected, and processed efficiently. This position requires a high degree of accuracy, organization, and adherence to safety protocols. Your work directly supports the inventory management and overall supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and document findings.
- Enter received goods into the inventory management system accurately.
- Tag and label received items according to company procedures.
- Organize and stage received materials for internal distribution or put-away.
- Operate material handling equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and verifying.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend; comfortable with lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety standards and consistent use of required PPE.
