We are recruiting for a skilled Forklift Operator in Des Moines, Iowa, to support our vital logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. This role is critical for receiving, put-away, order picking, and shipping processes, ensuring a smooth flow of goods. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, experienced, and possesses a valid forklift certification. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, performing pre-operation inspections, and adhering strictly to all safety protocols. This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and the capacity to work in a dynamic, sometimes physically demanding environment. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety shoes and high-visibility vests, is mandatory. Experience with different forklift models and warehouse management systems is highly advantageous. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel and supervisors to meet operational demands and maintain a high level of productivity. - Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials.
- Transport goods between different areas of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and shipping.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Follow all established safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock put-away.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Report any operational issues or safety concerns immediately to management.
- Wear all required PPE at all times while operating machinery.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve operational efficiency and meet deadlines.
