We are seeking an organized and proactive Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and dispatch of all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Your duties will include verifying order details, preparing necessary documentation, packaging items securely, and coordinating with shipping partners. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. A strong commitment to Safety and adherence to all warehouse protocols, including the correct use of PPE, are essential. Join our team and contribute to seamless logistics operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify all outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Generate and apply accurate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., BOLs).
- Package products carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks when needed, following Safety guidelines.
- Ensure the shipping department is kept clean, orderly, and safe.
- Uphold all company Safety standards and procedures, including the diligent use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common computer applications.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs) as required by the role.
- Familiarity with shipping carrier requirements and documentation.
- Dedication to workplace Safety and the proper use of PPE.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
