We are seeking a meticulous Shipping Clerk for our busy distribution center in Jacksonville, Florida. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of goods out of our facility. You will be responsible for all aspects of the shipping process, including preparing orders, generating labels, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outbound shipments for various carriers.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping documentation.
- Create and apply shipping labels, including tracking information.
- Schedule carrier pickups and communicate delivery expectations.
- Ensure packages are properly secured, packed, and accounted for.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and manifest records.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely if required.
- Assist in other warehouse functions as directed, such as receiving or stocking.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
Experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable. Must be comfortable with physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in using shipping software and general computer applications. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Your dedication to safety, including the proper use of PPE, is crucial for this position. A good understanding of logistics processes is a plus.
