We are looking for a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound logistics operations at our Atlanta, Georgia facility. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, processing, and coordinating shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to our customers. This includes verifying order details, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating with carriers. A strong understanding of shipping procedures and a commitment to Safety are crucial for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests.
- Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickups and deliveries.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for proper packaging and labeling.
- Maintain organized shipping records and track shipment statuses.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers regarding shipping matters.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Operate shipping dock equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including some Lifting.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training is a plus.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics coordination role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of shipping documentation and logistics processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 30 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Commitment to a Safe and efficient work environment.
