We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler to join our team at our Columbus, Ohio facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in the efficient movement and organization of materials throughout our warehouse and logistics operations. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading, transporting goods, and ensuring inventory is stored correctly. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you will be expected to follow all company protocols, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle significant lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accurate counts and proper securing of goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking, organizing, and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any damage or malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient logistics flow.
- Prepare materials for shipment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other relevant machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
